There are no types of love. Love is love. Labeling it is done by our mind because it doesn’t know how to love and needs to understand it.
Throughout your awakening, everything about love is especially beautiful. At first we will tend to separate what we understand by love from the other areas of growth. As time goes by we will realize that more and more often we end up in the same loving place as in other situations and feeling the same. Finally we will understand that everything leads us to love and that is why everything that happens to you from now on will be so gratifying.
One of the premises that we have to be clear about is that there are no different types of love. There isn’t only physical love, or a love for intimate relationships, or a love for your partner or a type of love for friends or neighbors.
There is also no pure love or unconditional love as if there were then an impure or conditional love. Remember: Love is love and it is always unconditional. If you ever love unconditionally, then it is not love, it is something else. A kind of agreement that your mind reaches to love as long as you get something in return or they love you the way you want, or rather, your mind wants. Does it sound familiar to you? That is egoic love but it is not love, because the mind doesn’t love.
Continuing with this premise, love in capital letters, pure and absolute, is God, Cosmic Intelligence, the Source or whatever you want to call it. Your God is a source of love who only knows how to love without expecting anything in return, unconditionally, like the love itself that He is.
Now it will be easier for you to start feeling love in many more areas of your life. You will begin to realize that the barriers to differentiating one love from another, for example between the love you give to your partner and to a friend, is a mental agreement, because love is the same. Another thing is who you decide to sleep with but that’s all. That decision aside, the love you give to another person comes from the same love and it will be up to you to see that it has always had the same intensity. Your mind will decide how far you love, but you will do it with the same love, since there are no different loves.
Why do we set limits? Because if we loved everyone with the same intensity we probably wouldn’t be able to bear it with our level of consciousness. As your consciousness expands, you will realize that the circle of people you love is expanding and that loving more people doesn’t take away love from others. This means being vulnerable to more and more people. You will do it gradually, in a manner directly proportional to your ability to love the acts you expect from them, whatever they may be. Being able to love people regardless of their response will make your supposed vulnerability (the one that scares your mind so much) stop making sense, since their actions can no longer hurt you. I do not know if I explained it well. If you have a child you can sense that this type of love exists and that you may be able to feel it for more people. You can also use a very dear family member as an example. This family member has more importance in your life than the rest of the people, but the love you give him is the same and I assure you that you will begin to feel it that way.
Being able to give unconditional love, regardless of the response of others, is a wonderful liberation that will make you feel free and aligned with God. And along with what you feel, there will also be how aware you are of it. The more aware you are that you love without fear, the less vulnerable you will be. Love is not afraid. Love makes us powerful.
